February is here and although Punxsutawnay Phil saw his shadow predicting six more weeks of winter and leaving us longing for warm and sunny spring days, there are lots of things to do in Dallas this month to warm you up!

Valentine’s Day is almost here and love is in the air! If you’re planning to celebrate with your sweetheart, family, friends or whomever your heart desires, make reservations at one of these Dallas restaurants offering a special Valentine’s menu or take a look at this list of unique Valentine’s ideas if you’re looking for something other than roses or chocolate.
Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo, through February 28 – Visit the African penguins and all the other animals at the zoo for just $5 per person every day in February!
2015 Hot Chocolate 15k/5k, February 7 – Enjoy a beautiful run through Dallas’ most scenic spots. Then celebrate crossing the finish line with an all-chocolate post-race party. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Dallas.
Dallas Comic Con Fan Days, February 7 and 8 – The worlds of comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming come together in one pop culture convention. Fans can meet their film and TV stars, see the latest geek gear, hunt for classic comic books and listen to Q&A sessions with celebs.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents Brahm’s Piano Concert No. 1, February 13 though 15 – Iconic pianist Yefim Bronfman returns to the Myerson to perform Brahm’s First Piano Concerto. Richard Strauss’ passionate tone poem, Ein Heldenleben rounds out this romantic program.
Texas Home & Garden Show, February 13 through 15 – See the latest and greatest from the area’s home and garden professionals and get new ideas for in and around your home.
The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes, February 14 through May 10 – The Perot Museum brings the world of Sherlock Holmes to life and gives visitors the opportunity to see how firsthand how he used science to solve mysteries and the chance to experience it themselves.
Dallas Arboretum’s Dallas Blooms, February 28 through April 12 – The largest floral festival in the Southwest has been a tradition for 30 years and this year’s theme pays homage to our beloved state, Dallas Blooms: Deep in the Heart of Texas. Visitors will be in awe as the gardens burst with color featuring more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs as well as life-size Texas themed topiaries, entertainment, food and special activities celebrating the state.
