Happy New Year! The Mom Corps team is kicking off the year with resolutions to work smarter, appreciate and find daily joy in what we do professionally, spend quality time with our family and friends, be thankful each and every day, take time for ourselves to be the best we can be and get out and enjoy the things our amazing community has to offer!

Here are some things that we love about Dallas in January:

With the 2015 College Football National Championship being played at AT&T Stadium on January 12, Dallas becomes event central this weekend with Playoff Fan Central which includes CMT’s Ultimate Kickoff Party Live, AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! with Lenny Kravitz and Sting, the Extra Yard 5k, Taste of the Championship and the Championship Tailgate.

Texas Home & Garden Show, January 9 through 11 – See the latest and greatest from the area’s home and garden professionals and get new ideas for in and around your home.

Building Toys and Toy Buildings: Architecture Through a Child’s Eyes, through January 17 – The Dallas Center for Architecture exhibit features vintage and modern toys used to build fantasy buildings, towns and towers over the years featuring toy blocks, LEGOs, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs and many more. Design and Build your own structure in the Construction Zone!

The Marvel Experience: The World’s First Hyper-Reality Tour, January 15 through February 1 – Join forces with Marvel’s mightiest Heroes on a mission to save the planet. You’ll swing with Spider-Man, smash with Hulk and fly with Iron Man in next generation hyper-reality – a one-of-a-kind experience you won’t want to miss!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Celebration, January 17 – Support the parade and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The parade starts at Dallas City Hall.

Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, January 16 through February 7 – A must-do for North Texans! Attend the rodeo, visit the carnival, experience the “Moo-seum,” enjoy live music, great food, unique shopping and much more!

Texas Rangers Fan Fest, January 24 – Enjoy all things Texas Rangers including autographs and photo opps with formers and current players, run the bases, toss balls, hitting and fielding clinics, tour the Rangers clubhouse and dugout and much more!

Harlem Globetrotters 2015 World Tour, January 24 and 25 – The iconic Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Dallas with their unrivaled family show, featuring some of the greatest athletes on the planet. With incredible ball handling wizardry, amazing rim-rattling dunks and trick shots, side-splitting comedy and unequaled on-court fan interaction, this must-see event is guaranteed to entertain the whole family creating memories that will last a lifetime.

USA KidFilm Festival, January 24 and 25 – Film festivals are usually an adult scene but the KidFilm event is a different affair! The Angelika Film Center will be featuring afternoon showtimes and age-appropriate movies selected for kids of all ages.

It may be cold outside but there are lots of fun things to do this month that will keep you nice and warm!
