Spring has sprung! In April it’s not only about the beautiful weather, it’s also about art, film, sports, food and fun.

Here’s what we love about North Texas this month:

Pop-Up Pastry Bake Sale, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 5 – Empire Baking Company features Celebrity Pastry Chef Katie Brown of Experimental Table and her spicy Killer Pecan shortbread cookies, plus lots of other small and large items, at its Inwood Village location. The event benefits Voice of Hope.

Dallas International Film Festival, April 3 thru 13 – More than 150 cinematic gems will screen during the course of this year’s 11-day event, including entire blocks dedicated to locally made movies, kid-friendly films and a student filmmaker competition. You may even spot a celebrity or two! Angelika Film Center, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane.

NCAA Men’s Final Four, April 4 thru 7 – Who knows how the final games will shake out, but the Final Four’s visit to Dallas is a sellout and sure to be full of excitement. AT&T Stadium, Arlington.

Deep Ellum Arts Festival, April 4 thru 6 – Deep Ellum’s yearly celebration held on Main Street showcases hundreds of musical performances, works of art and delicious food and drink from Dallas’ most popular restaurants. 200 selected artists will sell their wares along six blocks of Main Street for three full days – supporting both local and far flung artisans. You’ll find everything from jewelry to mixed-media sculpture. Main Street between Hall Street and Good Latimer.

White Rock Local Market, every Saturday – At White Rock Local Market you will find the best of local produce, meats and cheese, bread and pastries, pickles, jams, tamales and more. The market is at Lakeside Baptist Church on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, and at the Green Spot on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month (no markets on 5th Saturdays). On the 1st and 2nd Saturdays you will also find handmade furniture, toys, clothes, soaps and more, all made by North Texans.

Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum, thru April 20 – Your last chance to view one of thedallas_2013_dallasarboretum_creditdcvb_1 most spectacular floral displays in the world featuring more than 500,000 blooming spring bulbs. Visitors are invited to view outstanding collections of tulips, daffodils, pansies, violas, poppies and thousands of other annuals and perennials. Don’t miss this beautiful sight!

Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival, April 10 thru 13 – Enjoy the art, live performances or get your grub on around Sundance Square. Kids will love getting creative at the Main Street Creates children’s area. Main Street between Weatherford and Ninth Streets, Fort Worth.

Beauty Live at Galleria Dallas, April 12 thru 13 – Galleria Dallas will be transformed into a beauty haven! Enjoy free makeovers, learn the latest trends and partake in free giveaways.

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science presents The World’s Largest Dinosaurs, April 6 thru September 1 – Go beyond the bones to discover what life was like for some of the largest dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth. The exhibition explores the anatomy of a uniquely super-sized group of dinosaurs who thrived for 140 million years: the long-necked and long-tailed sauropods, which ranged in size from 15 to 150 feet long.
