Dallas Right Now

DallasArboretum-DallasBlooms1Hello, Spring! As we bid farewell to winter, there is a lot to look forward to in Dallas as the weather changes.

Here’s what we love about North Texas this month:

Trinity Groves – If you haven’t been to Trinity Groves, get there as fast as you can! Trinity Groves is a new restaurant, retail, artist and entertainment destination at the base of the new Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in West Dallas.

Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum, thru April 6 – Now in its 30th year, the annual Dallas Blooms festival offers one of the most spectacular floral displays in the world featuring more than 500,000 blooming spring bulbs. Visitors are invited to view our outstanding collection of tulips, daffodils, pansies, violas, poppies and thousands of other annuals and perennials. Highlights of the festival include the blooming of over 100 Cherry Blossom trees and the mass flowering of 6,000 azaleas that bloom into April.

Six Flags Over Texas – The park is now open on the weekends. Go on and get your ride on!

Trinity River Audubon Center – Who doesn’t want to be outside when the weather is beautiful? Visit the Trinity River Audubon Center and take a hike, have a picnic, see the largest urban forest in the U.S., see six colonies of bee hives, take a conservation class and much more!

Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. – Join the fun at the largest St. Patrick’s Parade in the Southwest! More than 90 parade floats. Parade starts on Greenville Avenue at Blackwell Street and ends at Yale/SMU Boulevard @ 75 Central Expressway.

Savor Dallas, March 20 thru 22 – Savor the flavor of wine, food, beer, spirits and the arts. They all play a big role in Savor Dallas. Savor Dallas brings dozens of great chefs and delicious cuisine together with people who appreciate the finest flavors. It’s a great place to discover the best from the world of food and drink. Locations vary by event.

Texas Pinball Festival, March 28 thru 30 – Pinheads are in for some serious competition during this weekend devoted to the old-fashioned arcade game.

Check back the first week of April for our next “Dallas Right Now” post to see what we love about Dallas next month!
