Dallas Right Now

December is the time to celebrate the joys of the season!snowday

There’s a lot to love about Dallas this month! With so many events to choose from – you will be able to ring in the season in many different ways:

A DSO Family Christmas, December 14 – celebrate the sounds of the season at the Meyerson with this sing-along!

Computer Science Expo Event, Saturday, December 14 – explore some of the basics of computer science and how it impacts our lives at this free event featuring demos for kids and adults of all ages – University of Texas at Dallas.

Christmas at the Bush Center, through January 5 – From the menus to decoration, come see how Christmas was celebrated at the White House during the Bush years.

The Gift of Lights & Snow, through January 5 – You’ll get no points for speeding at the Texas Motor Speedway. Instead, cruise slowly through the Snow Castles, a Snow Village (with a tubing hill), all lit up with two million LED lights. Don’t forget to stop by and say hello to  Santa.

Lone Star Christmas, through January 4 – At the Gaylord Texan Resort, this is an annual fave. The indoor gardens have been transformed into a winter wonderland featuring 1.5 million lights, 350 Christmas trees, 12,000 ornaments, 5,600 feet of garland and a 7-foot-tall gingerbread house.

Of the many events Northpark will host this month, everyone will find something to tickle their fancy! Visit the Trains, adopt an Angel from the Salvation Army Tree, visit Gingertown or be entertained by one of the many performancers.

One of the easiest and best ways to see all things twinkly is simply to drive through neighborhoods looking at light displays. Be sure to pack a thermos of hot cocoa and sing holiday tune – and it’s free!

And then cuddle up by the fire because baby, it’s cold outside!

To you and yours, we wish you the happiest of holidays filled with peace and much JOY!
