Dallas Right Now

Okay, we realize it is H.O.T. in Texas, but there are so many things to love in North Texas texassummerright now.

Headlining our post this month: tax free weekend, ’nuff said, and back to school (hints of working mommy guilt here, but it is just time the kiddos go back).

Here are a few other things to check out:

Design District Market – The event August 10th will feature a DUMPSTER POOL, live music from The Effinays, The Birds of Night, Ronnie Heart and The Venetian Sailors, free drinks and more. Come see what it’s all about!

DFW Restaurant Week – During the week of August 12th, select from more than 100 restaurants and enjoy a fabulous three-course dinner. For each prix fixe dinner purchased, participating restaurants will make a donation of 20% to the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth to benefit families in need.

‘Til Midnight at the Nasher – The third Friday of selected months, the Nasher presents special live outdoor concerts featuring the best in regional music talent and artistic film screenings in the Nasher Garden.

Highland Park Film Festival – The festival focuses on six films that best encapsulate cinema of the last 100 years. Screenings will be held at the Highland Park Village Theater at 7 p.m. on the first and third Monday of August. All screenings are free and open to the public.

Don’t forget to continue to support our Texas Rangers and our Dallas Cowboys are back! Go Rangers! Yahoo Cowboys!

Stay cool and enjoy the last weeks of your summer!
