From our own Texas Rangers to Earth Day and everything in between, there are plenty ofearth-day-picture fabulous activities for North Texas families to enjoy this month with glorious weather ahead:

Dallas International Film Festival – More than 175 films, events, panel discussions and galas April 4-14. Event takes place at various venues and theaters. Tickets are available here

Big Read Dallas – The Big Read Dallas is a community service project designed to immerse Dallas in a shared reading experience, with a specific focus on ninth and tenth-grade Dallas ISD students. The program, based on a grant awarded to the Friends of the Dallas Public Library by the National Endowment for the Arts, is under way now and will culminate with a citywide initiative throughout the entire month of April 2013.

Earth Day is April 22, 2013 – Learn new ways to reduce your carbon footprint. There’s more to “going green” than just switching out light bulbs and recycling–but that’s a great start!

Spring Arts Show – Zhen Music and Arts Institute is pleased to present its Spring Art Show featuring the works of Beth Gandy, Amy Titus and Rebecca Wilson. The exhibit will run from April 21 – May 27.

Kids Gone Wild – The Galleria Dallas invites families to celebrate the re-opening of its all-new rainforest -themed Play Place, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. April 27. During “Kids Gone Wild,” children will meet animals and insects from The Dallas Zoo and Texas Discovery Gardens and other special activities sure to make you go ape!

MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival – Check out the annual event that showcases a nationally recognized fine art and fine craft juried art fair, live concerts, performance artists and street performers on the streets of downtown Fort Worth.
