Dallas Right Now

Happy Women’s History Month ~ dedicated to honoring womenhistorymonththe women who have made our country great and the moments that have defined this nation.

So many fun events and activities in our great community this month. Here are just a few things we love about Dallas in March.

Mary Kay Global Makeover Day – To officially kick off its 50th Anniversary and the One Woman Can™ Makeover Contest, Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and global makeup artists will be holding makeovers throughout the world March 8 to set a world makeover day record. Be part of the excitement!

Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade – The 34rd Annual Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade brings thousands together along the 2-mile route in one of the most celebrated St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in North Texas history.

Cowtown Goes Green – St. Patrick’s Day meets the Old West in this event, which features a parade with longhorns, horses, and lots of folks wearing green. The fun also includes pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and games.

Dallas Blooms – Welcome spring to the city at the Dallas Arboretum in this nationally acclaimed floral festival. Now in its 29th year, the festival features more than 500,000 spring-blossoming bulbs; 100,000 pansies, violas and poppies; and thousands of other annuals and perennials.

Savor Dallas – Wine, food and spirits are the zest of this fest. New events at this year’s celebration include Savor Trinity Groves and Savor the Arboretum. March 14-17 at various Dallas locations.

Texas Pinball Festival  More than 400 pinball machines, as well as some classic video games, will be set up for free play for fest attendees in a 45,000-square-foot game room. Pinball-related equipment will be on display and for sale.

Spring Break Staycation – Staying home for spring break just got a whole lot more exciting. Check out these camps where kids can take a walk on the wild side, communing with horses, dogs, cats, owls, zoo critters and even hissing cockroaches.

One last thing, don’t forget … Not necessarily something that we “love” to do in March but it must be done … time to sign up for summer camps!
