What’s not to love about Dallas in December! Several days of warm weather followed by
the first snow fall of winter 2012 just this week. ‘Tis the season for merry events, beautiful lights, lots of shopping, yummy food and much more!

Here are our top event picks this month:

City Lights in Downtown Dallas – Every shopping center has its own unique set of lights, plus check out the gorgeous window displays at Neiman Marcus.

ICE! Experience featuring “Merry Madagascar”  – Themed, frozen fun at the Gaylord Texan Hotel with a unique and interactive display of colorful ice sculptures and 20-feet tall ice slides carved entirely from two million pounds of ice.

The Trains at NorthPark™ Benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, through December 31st – A local holiday tradition since it began in 1987, the exhibit is the most elaborate toy train exhibit in Texas.

Dallas Jingle Bell Run, December 19th – Benefiting the Trinity Strand Trail and the Mavericks Foundation, enjoy the merriment and holiday spirit of the races at the Hilton Anatole.

Highland Park Carriage Rides, through January 1st – ‘Tis the season for a holiday horse-drawn carriage ride.

Volunteer! – There are a wide variety of meaningful, flexible volunteer opportunities, as well as diverse needs for food, clothing, toys and other goods and services to help you spread holiday cheer.

New Year’s Eve – Celebrate at one of more than 200 restaurants, a fabulous venue + sparkling drinks + delicious menu = perfect party!
