Dallas Right Now

Fall is one of our favorite times of the year. Raking leaves, dining outside, carving pumpkins and so much more! Of course there are sports ~ football is in high gear whether it is high school or our Dallas Cowboys (thank you refs and owners for working out the contracts).

Here is a glimpse of what else we love about North Texas this October:

Change is Good – October 7. Benefiting Community Partners of Dallas, this is a fun-filled, family friendly event that encourages kids to collect change to change the lives of abused and neglected children.

State Fair of Texas – The largest State Fair in the country, the Texas State Fair is proud of its grand traditions with Big Tex, corny dogs, the Midway and the Red River Shootout!

Komen Dallas Race for the Cure® – October 22. The annual 1K and 5K fundraising walk/run event is held at NorthPark Center. It is a co-ed race and great fun for the entire family.

Perot Museum of Nature and Science – Online tickets now on sale for the December 1st grand opening of our long-awaited Perot Museum! You’ll want to take your kids to see the Malawisaurus skeleton for sure.

Chihuly Nights at the Dallas Arboretum – October is the final month of Chihuly Nights. If you want to see the world renown glass artist’s beautiful work, get to the Arboretum now.

Partners Card – October 26 – November 4. The signature fundraiser for The Family Place, Dallas’ largest domestic violence agency, 100% of your Partners Card purchase goes directly to supporting survivors of family violence.

Texas Conference for Women  October 24. We are excited friends Vickie Pynchon, She Negotiates, and Patti Johnson, PeopleResults, are speaking. Not in Dallas, but help in Austin, this event is something you may not want to miss this month!

What did we miss?  Let us know!
