Awhhhh, we can’t believe it is August!!!! Extreme heat at the end of this Texas summer and back to school is almost upon us.

One of our kiddos having a "blast" at summer camp.

Yet, there are many things we love about North Texas this month!

Dallas Zoo Tunes Concert Series – The opening band kicks off the concert Saturday, August 11th, at 7 p.m. and The King Bucks hit the stage at 8 p.m.

KRLD Restaurant Week – During the week of August 19th, select from more than 125 Restaurants and enjoy a fabulous three-course dinner for just $35 per person. For each prix fixe dinner purchased, participating restaurants will make a $7 donation to the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth to benefit families in need.

Olympics Swimming Watch Party – Watch the races on a big screen from the pool August 3rd. Games, contests and prizes all evening at The Colony Aquatic Park.

Dallas CASA’s 17th annual Parade of Playhouses – NorthPark Center hosts these real playhouses that you can enter to win, with proceeds benefiting Dallas CASA, which helps to protect abused and neglected children, August 3rd-19th.

Dallas CityScape Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax event – Enjoy lego building and view the Dallas landmarks replicated with toy bricks by Master Builder Kurt Zimmerle August 4th-5th.

Stockyards Rodeo – Check out the traditional rodeo events including saddle bronc riding, bull riding, bareback riding, tie down roping and more every Friday and Saturday at the Cowtown Coliseum.
