Dallas Right Now – Year of the Water Dragon

This year is the year of the water Dragon. The Dragon symbol of the 2012 year is an intelligent and laborious worker who never puts aside work though sometimes this leads him to excesses. The water Dragon has enough courage to face challenges and easily finds weak points that stand on his way to success.

Translated: This year is all about being strong, working smart and working hard ~ spending quality time with family, loving what you do professionally, making a difference in the lives of others, taking time for you to make sure you are the best you can be and celebrating all North Texas offers! No weak points here, we are focused!

Here’s what we love about Dallas in January:

Cotton Bowl – This year’s game will be played this Friday when No. 7 Arkansas plays No. 11 Kansas State.

Museum of Science & Nature – Live sharks, twice-weekly shark feedings, Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure returns to the IMAX® Jan. 2, Saturday shark dissections, Sharky Sunday and the Planet Shark: Predator or Prey exhibition.

The 26th Annual Elite News Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Festival – Support the parade and celebrate the legacy of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., January 16th, 10 a.m.

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo – A “must-do” for North Texans this is their 116th year.  Visit the midway, milking parlor, horse show, children’s barnyard and make sure to attend the rodeo!  Proud to be a Texan!

Big D Climb – Start off the new year climbing 1,040 steps while helping find a cure for Leukemia!  Join thousands of participants and get fit while making a difference!

Make S’mores at home – whether over a fire or the gas range, always fun to build a graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow treat!  If you feel like going out for them, Tillman’s Roadhouse in Dallas and Fort Worth make great S’mores!

Support our World Champion Dallas Mavericks and our Dallas Stars!

What did we miss? Share what you love in North Texas in January!
